Antique framed map of Pembroke (Pembrokeshire)


Early 17th-century hand-coloured map of Pembrokeshire that appeared in William Camden's Britannia (London: 1607–1637). Engraved by William Kip (fl. 1598–1610) and based on the survey undertaken by the renowned Welsh antiquarian George Owen (c.1552–1613), Henllys, Velindre, the Lord Marcher of Cemais.

This is one of the earliest printed maps of the county and is considered scarce; this particular example is likely to be from either the 1610 or 1637 edition as there is no text on the verso. Frame Measurements are 15.75" High by 17.5" Wide. Visible Image Measurements are 11" High by 13.52 Wide. Not examined out of frame.
